On the morning of March 2, the Hanoi Psychology and Education Association held its 6th congress (2018-2023). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Kieu – Chairman of Vietnam Association of Education and Psychology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi An – Vice Chairman of Hanoi Union of Science and Technology Association; Exc. Teacher – Dr. Nguyễn Tùng Lâm – Chairman of the Hanoi Psychology and Education Association (session 5) and 110 delegates officially attended the congress.
Reporting on the results of activities of the Hanoi Psychology and Education Association) (Association) (session 5: 2013 – 2018), People’s Teacher Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Loc – Vice Chairman of the Association said: During the past term, based on the effective implementation of tasks and functions, diversifying and associating with the practical activities of the educational facilities of the department and the city, the Hanoi Psychology and Education Association not only emphasizes the role in popularizing knowledge but also participates in supervision and social criticism for educational development programs and plans.
Like other Science and Technology Associations of the provinces over the country that are “3 no”, the Hanoi Association of Educational Psychology has no headquarters; no full-time staff; no state- granted budget to operate, but the Association has brought into full play its strength of “3 yes”: It has legal status; it has a need to apply Educational psychology science of schools, of each family, and especially it has strong human resources: creative teachers of Hanoi capital with dedication, research capacity and ability of applying educational science progress.

Promoted “3 yes” to limit the “3 no”, the Association has renovated a strong way of operating, gathered and mobilized many educational psychology scientists, managers, and đeicated creative teachers of Hanoi to organize the Association into an organization of learning, connecting and meeting the needs of educational and training institutions, creating the strength and prestige of the Association.
During the 5th term, the Association has well performed its functions and tasks such as propagating and popularizing knowledge of educational psychological science on the Capital Education Magazine. Among all the issues of the Magazine published in the last 10 years, there were many articles written by members of the Association. The Association considers this an important information channel to spread the progress of educational psychology science to the teachers in the schools in the Capital. Members of the Association have been actively involved in addressing public opinion issues such as: school violence; school psychology counseling… participating in training programs for master teachers about innovating educational methods and innovating teaching methods, implementing democratic regulations in schools.
Regarding scientific research activities, in the past term, the Association completed 2 city-level scientific research projects, 3 projects with non-governmental organizations and 5 research projects in collaboration with Universities and Academies.

In addition, the Association has had many practical activities associated with international non-governmental organizations as well as coordinating with domestic organizations to implement topics and projects on educational psychology. In particular, the Association has cooperated with the Union of Hanoi Education to organize the annual ” Hanoi enthusiastic creative Teachers” award for hundreds of Hanoi teachers from the 2016-2017 school year to the present.
Monitoring social criticism of the Association during the term 5 is the strength of the Association. The Association has sent its members to participate in many projects, plans and drafts of the Circular of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi and the Vietnam Association of Educational Psychology Science. Especially, the Association has participated in reviewing many programs and plans on social and education development organized by the Municipal Committee’s Propaganda Department and the Fatherland Front. Through these social criticism projects, the Association has actively contributed to bring educational psychological science to the populace.

In VI term (2018-2023), promoting the successes of the V term, the Association will focus on well implementing the following issues: developing the organization, innovating the Association’s operation method, actively propagating and disseminating knowledge of psychological science on the mass media and in the schools of the Capital, participating in the supervision, social criticism, scientific research …
The Congress voted the Executive Board of the VI course for the term of 2018-2023 with 53 members. The Honorable Dr. Nguyễn Tùng Lâm continued to be elected Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Educational Psychology term VI.
Congratulating to the Hanoi Association of Education Psychology for its efforts in the past term for making quite a number of efforts to perform its comprehensive functions, affirming its role in the development of the Education and Training sector of the Capital, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Educational Psychology Science Tran Kieu wished that, in the sixth term, the Association will continue to promote the organizational works, form a wide basic network, promote the creative power of its members to bring psychological and educational science advances into education and training, through that contributes to the socio-economic development of the Capital.
